Stevenson Family

Kyle Stevenson

Born in Springfield Oregon, Kyle knew exactly what he wanted to do when he was an adult; become a pilot/mechanic. He grew up in a family of drafters, construction workers, and carpenters, this giving him a wide variety of experience in and around many trades. He graduated from Lane Community College in 2001 with an associate’s degree in Aviation Maintenance and started his flight training that same year. Due to unfortunate circumstances with his FAA medical at the time, Kyle was unable to finish his pilot training and decided to focus his efforts on his mechanics license.

In April of 2002 Kyle got his first professional job in aviation working as an A&P mechanic for Hillsboro Aviation and continued to work for them (now Hillsboro Aero Academy) for 17+ years. Working for the flight school and charter departments gave him a vast amount of experience on many different types of aircraft over the years including fixed wing piston aircraft, helicopters, and even building a Lockwood AirCam kit airplane. While Kyle was head of the Robinson Helicopter overhaul department and Director Of quality for a fleet of over 100 aircraft, God called him to work as the Chief of Aircraft Maintenance for Adventist World Aviation.

In 2019, Kyle came on board with AWA answering a call of mission work that had been presented to him time and time again to become a missionary mechanic/pilot and use the skills he’s been blessed with in service to others. He’s began flight training again and has touched many lives in extraordinary ways since being a part of the family at AWA.

Rebecca Stevenson

From a tender, young age Rebecca knew God was calling her to be a missionary. Rebah as she’s called around the office now, grew up in the Pacific Northwest in Oregon. She has always loved helping people but the thought of being a missionary terrified her. For a good 28 years she ran from the childhood calling, but God didn’t let her go. She came to accept His plan for her life when in 2015 He called her to mission aviation to become a pilot. A stay at home mom and house wife, things would drastically change when, after an amazing string of event took place, and then in 2019 the whole family would move from Oregon to North Carolina, she would find herself unexpectedly working in the office as an administrative assistant. Two years later she would find herself named the executive administrative assistant and become office manager. With no prior training and only a ninth grade education, she is living daily the understanding that God qualifies the called.

Though her pilot training has been very slow while taking on the position she has at AWA it is still in progress. She loves to sing and uses music to bless the organization with benefit/fundraising concerts and sometimes those in need of uplifting who AWA serves.

Hadahsa Stevenson

Young Hadahsa (pronounced Ha-DAW-suh), or as she’s often called, “Dahs”, or “Dahsa”, is an amazing young lady. Before her parents even knew they’d be answering God’s missionary call for their lives, Hadahsa’s mom recognized that she had a gift of making connections with people very early on. Hadahsa was, and is, endowed with the mind and heart of a missionary.

When she was younger, mom and dad would sometimes cringe as Hadahsa is known for walking up to a complete stranger and greeting them warmly with, “It’s so nice to meet you!” and then proceeds to engage them in a big hug. Now it’s understood as a strength and a ministry, portioned by God, that she has developed with His leading. She touches people with the love of Jesus through a hug and shares a Glow or Signs track with them, talking and connecting with them. It’s her way of letting people know they are seen. Sharing God’s love is her gift in service.
