Greetings from the Fix family! We would like to share some updates we received from the AWA Project in the Philippines.

We have been busy at the Fix house in preparation for our future employment with AWA. Many things have been happening as well at the AWA project on the island of Palawan in the Philippines. They have had a dry season so far this year, and while it is not great for growing things, it has been a blessing for building.

The main project they have been working on is the airstrip. This is a huge project. They are rushing to finish before the rainy season starts. It takes about $300 per truckload of rock and fill. Like a long driveway, it will take many loads before it is finished. They are also working hard on finishing it, because they have an airplane in a shipping container heading to the Philippines. They are hoping that by the time the airplane arrives in the Philippines, they will have the airstrip ready to welcome it to its new home at the mission base. I hope to also be there to witness and help with these exciting events!

Another project they have been working on is the new church at “The Sawmill.” They have been meeting in a church that the members built, but unfortunately, the termites have taken over. They are making the new church with concrete! They will use the old building for the children’s Sabbath school. They have had over 50 non-Adventist kids attending, and running out of room! We are looking forward to being able to help with these classes and help at the AWA project!

Back in Kentucky, we have been visiting the churches in the area. We love promoting AWA and want more people to partner with us on our journey in training to go into the mission field, and eventually deploying to the mission field.

Please consider partnering with us, and let your friends know about the work we are doing. We do need many donors to help us on our journey, not only with monthly support, but also with our deployment costs. Our monthly support, to break it down, helps us keep food on the table, clothes on our back, and gas in our car. Eventually, that monthly support will help keep gas in the plane, a roof over our heads in the Philippines, and our kid’s education. While deployment costs are a one-time cost, there are many moving costs. Anyone who has moved knows there are many elements that go into moving. Moving overseas is no exception, but also has other costs added on. Like moving vans, we would have a shipping container for our belongings. Though the AWA project can re-use the container after we move, they are expensive and make up a large chunk of the deployment costs. Past containers have found creative uses such as storage, and even hangars.

God keeps us going and He can work through us if we listen to His word. This is something that I am going to devote more time to and I pray you do as well. We just have to be willing and sensitive to His queues and that still small voice of the Holy Spirit directing us. One way God keeps us, the Fix family, going, is through your support. Please join us by supporting us with your prayers and donations.

  • Prayer request: That God would pour out His Spirit on all of the AWA missionaries.
  • Needs: Sufficient funding to go full-time with AWA and deploy soon to the Philippines.
