I’m sitting here in the mission truck in front of a hospital in a little town called Waspan, Nicaragua. I took a lady and two girls to see the doctor. We’re about 35 minutes from the AWA base. It’s nice to have the faithful Hilux pickup for these short trips. It has served the base well over the years. This town is where we will frequent with the plane once deployed here. The local hospital is very small and so serious cases get taken to the bigger hospital in Puerto Cabezas which is on the coast – at least 3 hours away. By plane it’s roughly 40 minutes, and a much smoother ride. The roads are dirt here and become ridden with potholes when not taken care of…
