It was Sunday at the Fix home in Kentucky. I had been sharpening chainsaws for tree work I was going to do the next day. I had cut my finger pretty deep while sharpening and was considering how difficult it would be to work the next day with this injury.

As I was thinking about my problem, I got a phone call from Adventist World Aviation’s (AWA) president, Ric Swaningson. He said he had an Angel Flight
for me to do if I was able to get away from my work for a few days. An Angel Flight is defined by Wikipedia as “the name used by a number of groups whose members provide free air transportation for passengers in need of medical treatment far from home and perform other missions of community service.”
