Greetings from the Fix family! We would like to share some developments with our plans with AWA!

Sitting in the shade overlooking beautiful Lake Junaluska with the North Carolina mountains in the background, I thanked God for His goodness. My family and I were at Carolina Camp Meeting at the end of May sharing what Adventist World Aviation does around the world.

The weeks before the Camp Meeting were eventful for us. I have been pondering how to transition from full-time employment to work more fully on fundraising for our deployment to the Philippines. We have an exciting schedule of events to attend with AWA this summer, so I did not know how I would be able to go everywhere I needed to unless I quit my job.

Yosi and I started praying that God would guide us. Right after that, Yosi and I were talking with our landlord and he told us that someone at church had prepaid for three months of our rent! Praise the Lord! In addition, I had a good bit of summertime side jobs to do, so with a leap of faith, I gave my two-weeks notice to my boss. It was not an easy decision because through six years of employment my boss had taken good care of us. Fortunately, he was understanding and said that I always have a job there if I need it and to let him know if I need some part-time work to help support the family. Another door God opened!

Two weeks away from my job and I was able to study for and pass my commercial pilot written test! Praise God! Now, we are able to attend a number of events this summer as well as finishing my commercial license and build more experience time flying. We hope, by God’s grace, to deploy to the Philippines by next year!

We are praying to be aligned with God’s will and receive His blessing as we do the work of the Good Samaritan which is a work we are all called to do. God says to love our neighbors as ourselves and so we are going to help our neighbors in the Philippines. Many of the people have no way to obtain medical help in an emergency and often situations that call for immediate attention end up taking their lives. Worse still, they are dying without hope in Christ. Keep us in prayers please as we pursue this life-saving journey – and thank you for your support and for your prayers!
