Greetings Friends and Family!

It is a warm winter’s night here at the Fix home. For us, it is odd but pleasantly warm the last two days. I believe today it got up to 66 degrees Fahrenheit, the wind was blowing and raining cats and dogs all day. It has not been a great day for flying, but a good day for working on airplanes! Today, I changed a tire on a small training airplane and worked on an annual inspection on an older airplane. It is nice having a dry hanger to work in. That is something that we at AWA are working on fundraising for building a hangar at the airbase in the Philippines. A hanger protects the plane from the baking sun, pounding rain, and strong winds. It also gives us a place to house tools and parts and gives us a good place to work on our aircraft.

This last month has been a busy one with lots of flying, wrenching, changing diapers, and wiping little noses. Our smallest one, Isaac, is finally having a couple teeth poke out. He is showing it in his mood. On the flying side of things, I am getting close to finishing out my instrument rating and by the time you read this letter, I might have my check ride scheduled! I am excited to have that moving forward. It has been a matter of prayer for a while now and God has opened up all the doors so it can become a reality! Through the years that we have been on this road I have wondered sometimes if God really wanted me as a mission pilot and I have prayer numerous times that He would stop me if I am wasting time and money. The last thing I want to happen is for me to get neck deep into something just to hit a dead end. However, I am about as neck deep as you can get right now and every time I think I have hit a dead end a door opens up. It has been a trial of our faith, but by miracles we have made it this far and we do expect to have doors open with God’s grace.

All that said, we could not have gotten here without you allowing God to use your gifts to enable us to complete this journey of service. If I had one prayer request it would be that we and the whole AWA team never forgets our true purpose and that God is the one who opens the way for us to serve in this capacity. Our field is one of the most challenging, but also one of the most impactful. We save lives through medical evacuations and humanitarian relief, but we all know that having a heartbeat is not enough. We all want more than a pulse. There is a battle all around between good and evil. You can see it and you can feel it. At AWA, we want to be a force for good. We want to share the genuineness of God’s love by letting it show through us as we labor for others. We cannot show that love if we are not connected to Him, trusting in Him, and depending on Him. Keep us in your prayers as we near the finish line of our training. We know that the devil would like to attack and shake us from our purpose to serve God, especially right now to divert us from the field of service. Let us show him that with God on our side, nothing is impossible!

God bless you all!
