Dear Family and Friends:
Recently, I was sitting in the back of a Piper Comanche (airplane) zipping across the Kentucky sky, with St. Louis, Missouri as our destination. Yosi and I, along with our baby, Caleb, went to pick up another airplane and head back east. A friend of mine from the airport is taking us, along with a friend of his, who’s never been in a small airplane. It’s baby Caleb’s first time. Both are calm and taking the light turbulence very well.

I thank God for the good people He’s brought in my life. It’s been such a big help, as Yosi and I have been working towards the mission field, and just surviving in our current local mission field. We could not have made it without the help we’ve received from people who have shown God’s goodness to us. So let that encourage those individuals who have a dream that God has given them, but they’re afraid of failing somehow. Don’t worry! If it’s God’s will for you to do something, then He’s February 2017 got help waiting up ahead.

When we took off, for St. Louis, Missouri, we were riding beneath the clouds, which were pretty low. As we headed West, the clouds were rising and broke up. It’s nice to know that wherever you may be and whatever weather you’re encountering, someone is enjoying the sunshine. Just need to wait your turn. The sun will shine in your “neck of the woods” before you know it. We stopped for a fuel and a bathroom break. The plane had a little carburetor ice on the way down; thank God and the engineers, we had the carb heat working to take care of the situation. There’s a lot of things that can happen in a plane that could mess up your day. With the right equipment and the right knowledge, most of those things are no big deal.

The same is with life. We need to know how to use the resources we have available to us. In Christ, we have access to His tremendous resources. All we need is the prayer of faith to access these resources. As we near the Saint Louis airspace, there are a lot of other planes in the sky as they are getting routed to their destination airport. There are some different airports in the Saint Louis area, and we have to cross over to the far side of this area to reach our destination. It would be a nightmare to try and attempt if it weren’t for the help of air traffic controllers. They are like the Holy Spirit for pilots. You have to listen carefully and follow every instruction given. If you let yourself get distracted, you might miss an important piece of information.

Thankfully, the controllers are patient and won’t give up on trying to tell you the message after just one try. As we come in for landing at our destination, my friend, the pilot, warns us that it might be a rough landing due to the gusty wind conditions; but the landing was smooth and uneventful. That’s just like life at times. We worry about things that sometimes never happen, and when they do, they’re not half as bad as we would have expected.

The people in Saint Louis were friendly. We received a warm welcome, and the folks helped us get to our lodging. As we draw near to the end of the day, we’re bedded down for the night across the road from the airport. God is good! We have survived another day, amidst many blessings, which we something take for granted. What are we going to do with all these blessings? They have been given us for a purpose, and that purpose is to bless others. It’s like a constantly flowing river. If we stop the flow to others, we become stagnant. What we need to ask ourselves each day, what will we do with the blessings we’ve been given. Keep the river flowing.

Take care and God bless!
