When the school principal and I discussed organizing a summer activity for the pupils of Sagpangan Elementary School, we considered holding a Vacation Bible School and a summer reading camp simultaneously. Without help, we wouldn’t pull this off, since I’m the only one here at the base, and most of the teachers at the school will be on vacation. Remember that we also have a literacy program nearby to help the school. I thought of recruiting them to the team we are making for the summer activity that we will be doing for the pupils. To make a long story short, the simple spark of ideas the principal and I exchanged is now ablaze, thanks to the willing volunteers from our literacy program, headed by Ms. Novee Joy Rase.
