Project Description
Pilot/Mechanic and Mission Family
The Fix family joined AWA in January 2015 as missionary trainees. Yosiday and Josh were a young couple with no children, no aviation certifications, but with a desire to serve God. They had met at Wildwood College of Health Evangelism and through their time there a desire was grown to serve as missionaries, and were also made aware of the need of pilots in remote areas of the mission field. Thus began a journey towards serving God as a flying missionary family. Yosiday and Josh were married in 2014, and Josh was working at a small airport in Kentucky to gain aviation experience. Through his time there God opened doors in amazing ways, working through people who helped Josh get his commercial pilot license as well as his A&P license or aircraft mechanic license. At the same time Yosiday and Josh were growing a family! They now have two boys. Caleb and Isaac. Yosiday enjoys making and sharing fresh bread, meeting people’s practical everyday needs, sharing literature, making people feel loved, and being a homemaker.
Life has taken many twists and turns for them, but they answered a call to serve the needs of the Alaskan mission field. They live off of the road system in Dillingham, Alaska where they help facilitate transportation to the small villages and towns with the AWA aircraft to further the work of the great commission. They are also involved in ministering locally to the people of Dillingham and are active in the local church.
Their goal is to support God’s mission to restore his image in mankind in their sphere of influence, experiencing and sharing the transforming power of the gospel, using the tool of aviation to connect to people.
