After the first week of creation, God made one day of the week special, He called it the Sabbath (Genesis 2:2). On that day, He would take time to be in close communion with His creation. When Jesus walked the earth as a man, He followed the same pattern. He would customarily go to the synagogue and read scripture, teach about His father’s kingdom, and heal the sin-sick souls in the backdrop of nature (Luke 4:16).
Life here in La Tronquera has its stresses at times for us as missionaries. The work days are long and we feel a weight of responsibility to be productive. When Sabbath arrives at the end of each week, it is truly a blessed rest for us.
