The church board considered constructing a Seattle Center of Influence made of treated timber. This was to kick-start the agreement between Bugema University and Adventist World Aviation; it would be cheaper and take a short time. Church members and students mobilized basic resources to begin the project while they wait for additional funding support. The summer holiday came, and students went to their different countries. Unfortunately, during the holiday, the timber was eaten by termites. We were forced to transition from timber to blocks and cement.
