Pastor Leonardo Pires is a devoted servant of God, passionate about proclaiming the everlasting Gospel, fostering community development, and nurturing spiritual growth. His ministry journey is deeply rooted in his family’s longstanding commitment to faith.

He currently serves as a Missionary Pastor with AWA in Guyana, continuing a path that began in 1995, when he answered God’s clear calling to serve in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, through the Rio de Janeiro Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. From the very beginning, his mission has been driven by a steadfast conviction to reach the unreached and proclaim the good news of salvation.

Throughout his ministry, Pastor Leonardo has been committed to building up the body of Christ and strengthening faith communities, creating spaces where spiritual life is nurtured and deepened. He has witnessed countless times the transforming power of God through prayer — a cornerstone of his ministry. Firmly believing in the power of both personal and corporate prayer, he sees it as a divine instrument for intervention, renewal, and transformation, leading to stronger communities, restored hope, and changed lives.

His key areas of expertise include biblical exposition, pastoral counseling, and leadership development, further enriched through theological studies and ministry leadership training.

Pastor Leonardo’s vision and purpose are to build vibrant Christ-centered communities, see lives transformed by God’s love, and embody the Gospel in daily life — promoting unity, serving those in need, and reflecting God’s grace in all he does.
