Greetings and blessings from the remote areas of the East Nicaragua Coast. One of the two autonomous regions in Nicaragua, called Region Autonoma Costa Caribe Norte, RACCN (North Caribbean Coast Autonomous Region). The area is 33,105.98 km2, the largest territory in Nicaragua. It’s population is 480,874 (2015 census) and it’s capital is Bilwi (Puerto Cabezas). The population is mostly of the Miskitu ethnic group in the majority, and Mestizo Hispanic, as well as African origin. This is where our AWA Mission Base is located; in the community called La Tronquera; a part of the Municipality of Waspam. We are located 28 kms south of the border with Honduras.
