We were awakened by our dogs barking furiously and they kept barking all night! When we woke up the following morning, with bags under our eyes, we investigated the matter. Right behind our garden were the traces of the neighbor’s large sow pig. She had spent the night rooting near our cassava plants and returned home at first light. The following night the same thing happened, but this time it was a smaller sow. Bruce found two javelin size sticks to poke the pigs with when they came rooting again. Sure enough, one did at dusk. And Bruce and his spear and 3 dogs ran after the sow while I followed close behind! Bruce and the dogs hurdled a drainage canal that was about one meter wide by one meter deep while I tried to…
