Greetings from the Stephenson family! We would like to share exciting news about our plans with AWA!
As some of you may know, Adventist World Aviation is working on a new project which will be collaborating with ADRA in Uganda. AWA is working on converting the engine in a Cessna 182R from gasoline to diesel in preparation for this new project. Thanks to God’s efforts, they found an engine and a plane that will work together, but the plane also needs a complete overhaul and a new paint job! Just starting this project is expensive, as the total is projected to be $256,950!
Thankfully, if you are an individual, a Pathfinder Club, or even a Church or Business, YOU can help with this conversion and overhaul! In the AWA Magazine Airways this past month, it said, “AWA is promoting an on-going fundraiser for the Uganda project Pathfinder plane. With this fundraiser, Individual or Families donating $1,000, Pathfinder clubs donating $2,000, and Churches or Businesses donating $5,000, will have their names inscribed on the plane when it is ready to deploy.” This is exciting news, so if any of you would like your name inscribed on our plane, please help us by adopting this project!
We just made plans to attend the Pathfinder Camporee in Oshkosh Wisconsin! The 2019 camporee will be at the EAA grounds. Andrews University Aviation is also involved and if you are a Pathfinder, you can earn your Aviation Honor badge! Make sure to get your Airplane Modeling Honor Badge done beforehand so you can participate!
An exciting part of the Pathfinder Camporee this year is that a portion of the Pathfinder Camporee Sabbath Offering is actually going directly to convert the Cessna 182R bound for Uganda! God is awesome! The Kennedy family is currently using this plane in Canada, but we cannot wait for the day the plane is bound for Uganda! Though it is still going to take time for this to start, I know God will bless!
Unfortunately, we have been sick lately, and not quite our perky selves. If you find our perky selves, please send them our way! Kyle has also been researching color assessment tests to move forward with his flight training. Since he has some issues seeing color, he needs prayers for wisdom and guidance to help him find one he can consistently pass.
Your AWA Mission Family,
The Stephensons
