Recently AWA had the opportunity to take in another plane donation and what a multi faceted blessing it turned out to be!
Betty’s son, Steve, called the AWA office to share his mother’s desire to fulfill her late husband’s wish to donate his plane. Betty’s husband passed away in 2013. He loved to fly. His plane – a beautiful 1967 Champion Citabria (*a plane that has a tailwheel).
While this kind of tailwheel wouldn’t work so well in the mission field (though there are some models that do), it would be a great blessing to AWA pilots to help them have better rudder control and fine tune their pilot skills.
