Greetings from the Stevenson family! We would like to share an exciting update of our move across North America with AWA!
“Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” Matthew 9:37-38
Have you ever thought of your own life as being a mission field for others to come and work in while God is tilling and pruning your vineyard for His glory? Most of us do not, but we certainly lived a first-hand example of it.
“How is all this going to get packed up?” I marveled in bewilderment, looking around my atrociously messy house. “In two weeks? Really? God, I need your help. I cannot do this. I need a whole crew of people!” God made a promise to me that He would be the one to pack us up in time to move to North Carolina to Kyle’s new job at AWA’s headquarters. I could allow myself to breathe because He would take care of it. Our God is a God of faithfulness to His word. In the two weeks needed to put our house in order, God sent many people to work in our mission field, to minister to us and help us move.
When the last day before we hit the road arrived, God delivered mightily. Kyle’s parents, a co-worker of my mother’s, and the men and women from our home church Stone Tower in Portland, OR, all arrived early to help put the boxes on the truck. A glorious team came together as they packed up what was left into boxes. They had everything packed into our Penske moving truck in about 3 hours. They were an efficient whirlwind and they almost packed us into the truck as well!
We laugh in awe and wonder knowing when God answers prayer for help, He answers. He sent workers into our movable harvest, even caring for the most delicate members of our family, our 3 cats—providing a new home for them at the last minute. At 6 pm, we started down the road.
Our journey as missionaries for God, however, has only just begun. Those vineyard workers we keep praying for are still needed. Adventist World Aviation grows and shines as a vineyard needing workers and supporters to keep it going. Our AWA family needs now more than ever a band of supporters to keep us going. There is no other way for us to do what we do but by God’s provision. He sends supporters like you to aid the workers He has called into His harvest. Thank you for moving with us in your support!
