Project Description

Uganda Mission Project

Uganda, officially the Republic of Uganda, is a landlocked country in eastern Africa. It is bordered to the east by Kenya, to the north by South Sudan, to the west by the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to the southwest by Rwanda and to the south by Tanzania. Uganda is the second most populous landlocked country on the African continent. The southern part of the country includes a substantial portion of Lake Victoria, shared with Kenya and Tanzania, placing the country in the African Great Lakes region. Uganda also lies within the Nile basin and has a varied climate, but generally a savannah climate.
Uganda has a reputation as one of the most Christianized countries in Africa. Many churches or organizations choose it as a destination for short-term trips and missionary projects due to its ease of access and welcoming environment.
However, as many other third world country, Uganda faces many problems.

Poverty
Despite economic growth, a large portion of the population still lives in poverty. The majority of the population relies on agriculture, which has experienced lackluster growth.
Healthcare
Uganda has a low doctor-to-patient ratio and is affected by infectious diseases like malaria, tuberculosis, HIV, and neonatal conditions.
Family problems
Separation, divorce, and domestic violence are common family problems that have a severe impact on children and women.
Environmental issues
Rapid population growth and urbanization have led to poor air and water quality.
Social justice
Uganda faces social injustices such as pollution, urban poverty, overcrowding, traffic, land conflicts, unemployment, and high crime rates.

Adventist World Aviation provides help and support to those in need. Operating from Kampala, AWA seeks to provide relief and comfort to those suffering.

Partner with AWA - Support Uganda Mission Project

One of Christ’s last instructions to us was to simple “GO”. So that is what AWA is doing on a daily bases. Going. Going far. Going to the most remote locations this world has to offer. And once we get there, our mission bases stay busy serving. We invite you to journey with us by supporting one of our projects.
