January 5, 2021 was the last day that AWA North American missionaries were in Guyana, at our project in Mabaruma. Travel restrictions are easing up a bit for visiting, but still a “no go” for many. Despite the disappointment, God has on queue the Hamombe Family to continue AWA’s work in Region 1, the Barima-Waini Region of Guyana. In the meantime, wood ants have infested and have swarmed our Learning Center in Hobo Hill and our flat in Georgetown. The juggle tends to reclaim itself when left unchallenged. These vicious creatures, if not eradicated, can cause major damage to wood structures. Praise the Lord for Alfi and Sonita who tirelessly work to rid our dwellings of these pests. With the abundance of water during the May rainy season there is undoubtedly the constant problem of mold which Alfi also helps to resolve. We are praying that the Hamombe Family (Pumelela, Tali and Daniel) will deploy to Guyana soon. The harvest awaits them, God’s people await them and so does the mission of bringing Hope to the people they encounter…
