Hello Everyone!
Is everyone excited to get into the warmer months of the year? At least here in the Northern hemisphere we’re looking forward to more comfortable weather and hopefully some sunshine! This has been a really wet few weeks here in Kentucky, and after a long winter that just doesn’t want to leave, I’m looking forward to getting out in the sunshine and fresh air to enjoy the rebirth of Spring. We have a great selection of hiking places within an hour of our house and we take full advantage of them.
I heard someone the other day talk about how much they love Spring and how it gives them hope and reminds them of God’s faithfulness. Our Heavenly Father is always watching out for us even when things are looking dark and dreary – like the winter months. Once we get into Spring I forget all about Winter and usually it doesn’t seem to be that bad once it’s behind us.
That reminds me about Heaven. Once we enter eternity, by God’s grace, this present life will look so brief. Especially with eternal life ahead of us. Also when we look back, we will not want to have been led any other way. We’ll be able to see clearly how God worked all things together for good to all those that love Him (Romans 8:28).
We’re at an exciting point in our lives right now. There’s a ton of things going on – we’ve made progress, but there are still big intimidating mountains in front of us. The exciting thing is that it’s only by God’s miracles that we’ve made it this far. So now I’m ready to see how this story finishes. We still need more miracles before we can be in the Philippines! And Oh Boy! Once there, we’ll need even more miracles to be able to minister full time and try to make a difference in the lives of the Philippino people.
I’m asking for prayer right now as we’re nearing the threshold of being full-time missionaries. I’m a firm believer in the power of prayer and with each answered prayer my faith gets stronger. Prayer is a far too little used resource and we need to learn to tap into it more often. The most powerful prayers happen when we are on the same page as God and we’re thinking, praying, and living according to His will. Armies have been defeated, the blind made to see, the dead raised to life, and the most amazing, hearts of stone melted as prayers were answered.
So I humbly ask and covet your prayers! Pray that God would help us prepare for the Philippines. That means finishing training and fund-raising as well as all the little hoops we have to jump through to get to the Philippines. Also please pray that God would help us keep our minds on track and help us keep a firm grip on Him. If we’re not connected to Him we’ll not have anything of lasting benefit for the people of the Philippines. And last but not least, please pray for the little baby that Yosi is due to deliver in May. Please pray that it’s a smooth delivery and that the baby and mommy are both happy and healthy.
Thank you so much for your time praying for us! It means a lot to me. Even if you just take a moment right now to bow your head and ask the Father on our behalf, know that He hears and it DOES make a difference! I will also pray that God leads in your lives and He also gives you grace to be a blessing in your personal mission field!
